  4. revlon matte lipstick in pink pout

this one is a matte pinky lavender or a barbie pink. for me, it is more of a trendy color rather than a natural one. i love it as is, but also as a base for more natural shades, both for added longevity and to get a pinkier hue. i saw a friend layer mac hug me over it to a very flattering and pretty shade.

  5. Dear M,

It is my first time to write to you, my baby boy.

You’re turning three months in a few days. I can still clearly see in my mind our first hours and days together, those first few times that the hospital nurses were trying to latch you on to me. You will try to suck with your lips pursed (someday I’ll show you how), which I found so funny and so frustrating at the same time. You were so tiny and precious, my baby. Latching did not come very easily for us, but every small progress we made made me so proud of you!

When we took you home from the hospital, it was your Tita T and your Lola Wilma who took care of both you and me. Lola Wilma gave me baths, and taught me how to give you one.

Let me tell you about our days. In the morning, before going to work, Tatay changes your diaper and plays with you. I swear that your Tatay is very much in love with you! Your Lola Becky and I give you your bath in the kitchen sink. You used to cry and scream all throughout your baths, but you’ve recently learned to like it (or at least, not hate it!). In the afternoon, the only way to put you to sleep is on the chest of your Lola Becky. Putting you down in your crib will make you wake up and cry.

Your most favorite activity of all is… Dede! We feed all day, baby, stopping for just 15-minute intervals, and feeding for hours at a time. You hate waiting, and your whimpers turn very quickly to screams if you don’t get your dede right away.

You’ve been smiling at us for a while now. Your gummy grin is so cute, every flash of it melts our hearts.

Sometimes, your Lola Yolly will call you from Singapore through FaceTime. When you’re not feeding, you will look at her and Ate Denden, and sometimes give them a smile. Ate Denden loves to look at you and always says, “Hi baby!!!” (which actually sounds more like “Hi Beebee!!!”). Lola Yolly also took care of you when they came here for vacation. She loved giving you your baths, and with her you rarely cried.

We sing to you all the time, baby. Tatay’s favorite songs to sing to you are Moon River, Lift Up Your Hands, and One More Gift. I sing to you Bahay Kubo and ABC. You also fell asleep to me singing you Lupang Hinirang, which Tatay found so funny. Lola Becky sings to you her own compositions, variations of “ang pogi ni Marco, ang bait ni Marco, good boy si Marco”. When your Lola Wilma was taking care of you those first few days home, she could make you stop crying with “Si Marco ay mayrong bukid, E-I-E-I-O, sa kanyang bukid ay may aso/pusa/baboy, E-I-E-I-O” (her own, and IMO cuter, version of Old MacDonald), and with Immaculate Mother (what your Tatay calls the Ave Maria song).

Lola Mary, my lola, great-grandma to you, is so fond of you, baby. Everyday she asks “‘Ne, naligo na ba?”, “Dumede na ba?”, “Ilang beses ba dumedede?”, “Natutulog ba?” She also says, “Aba dilat na dilat na ang mata ah!!!”, as if that’s the most amazing thing in the world. She would carry you and take care of you the way she did me if she could!

Your Lolo Oggie is very excited for you to grow up, so that you can play boy games together. Even now he is itching to buy you big boy toys. Tatay is excited for you to go fishing with him. We can’t wait for you to grow up, but at the same time, we can’t believe how you’re growing up so fast!

Having you with me now still makes me so in awe of how you just used to be in my tummy. I love you so much, my little guy! I always pray for your health and happiness. I pray that we will be able to take care of you for a long, long time.

    Love,

    Nanay
